Novel nanomaterials for restoration of artworks: from the lab to the bench |
Co-organized with CSGI Chair: Rodorico GIORGI, CSGI & University of Florence |
A hands-on symposium available to conservation scientists and conservators. Novel advanced materials recently developed have completely changed most of the commonly used conservation treatments on works of art. Consolidation, strengthening, protection, cleaning, deacidification are few examples of the techniques that have benefitted by the most recent advancement in the field of nanoscience. The symposium aims to make familiar some of the new materials useful for painting cleaning (nanostructured fluid and chemical gels) combining theoretical seminars with practical demonstration. | |||
